“ As a full-service event catering company, we provide our corporate, non-profit, faith based, education, and private customers with the energy, experience, and excitement that ignites life into the special occasions they’re celebrating.  We do this by delivering a unique and dynamic catering service which includes great tasting food, customer focused service, and event management expertise that is unparalleled in the Washington DC region.  We understand the stress, pressure and anxiety behind planning a wedding, company meeting, or any other type of event.  We take ownership of the smallest details so our customers can focus on relaxing and enjoying the moment".

About SmokeDatt Barbecue


SmokeDatt Barbecue had its humble beginnings on the sidelines of a little league football field. In the Fall of 2005, our owner enjoyed watching his son play little league football on Saturdays. After each game, he would fire up his tabletop grill and enjoy the rest of the afternoon with the other parents of his son’s team. Each year the crowd grew.


When his son moved from little league football to high school, it turned into a tailgate party. No matter where the game was being played, our owner would create the ultimate tailgate experience. After his son was recruited to play football for the United States Naval Academy, he designed and had customized a real tailgate smoker, which he named "SmokeDatt". After receiving numerous requests to cook for small private parties, the owner launched SmokeDatt Barbecue, a full service  event catering company. The rest, as they say, is history.

Preparing great-tasting, wood-smoked BBQ for any of your private or business events is our #1 passion. Our desire to perfect the "Art of Smoking Meat" is why we study our craft every day. SmokeDatt Barbecue always uses the freshest ingredients, and never takes short cuts during the food preparation and cooking processes. We understand the time that it takes to prepare great-tasting BBQ. Our team at SmokeDatt believes in the "Low and Slow" cooking method and considers the style of BBQ we prepare to be “Our Style." Our desire is not to replicate the familiar BBQ styles to which most people are accustomed. What is “Our Style,” you ask? “Our Style” is a technique that leaves the meat so flavorful and tender you won’t need to enhance it with sauce to enjoy it.  We are not a restaurant so we never mass produce our BBQ.  It's personal when we "Smoke".  Every piece of meat that is put into the smoker has a customer's name attached to it!
